You might recall that Obama agreed with McCain to end earmarks. While McCain has a long record of fighting earmarks and other bloated pet special interest spending, Obama had the most liberal record in the Senate on spending, according to the National Taxpayers Union. So while McCain's opposition had historical credibility, Obama's did not, and wise people knew that Obama was just lying to win the election. Many liberals simply don't care how much Obama and Congress spend in rewarding special interest groups, so long as the liberals get their welfare-regulatory state. So while I don't expect very many liberals to get upset that Obama has become the King of Earmarks, I bet there are many moderates who voted for Obama really believing he would curtail earmarks. Now you have no excuse for not knowing better.
